Radiant Floor Heating: It’s quiet, it’s clean, it’s efficient
A radiant floor heating system warms your room from the floor up. Previously, a system that needed to be installed during the construction phase, radiant floor heat can now be added after the fact or while replacing your current system.
What is a Radiant Floor Heating System?
A radiant floor heating system warms your room from the floor up. Previously, a system that needed to be installed during the construction phase, radiant floor heat can now be added after the fact or while replacing your current system.
There are two types of radiant floor heating systems:
Hydronic systems – These systems are efficient for heating your whole house. Any type of floor covering may be used with a hydronic system, although some recommend avoiding hardwood due to warping.
Electric systems – These systems are more commonly used to heat single rooms as opposed to whole homes. This system is often used under tile floors in kitchens and bathrooms.

The 5 Benefits of Radiant Floor Heating Systems
- Radiant floor heating provides a steady temperature to your home.
- Radiant floor heat maintains a constant temperature.
- You will no longer have the added noise in your home of the furnace kicking on and off.
- You eliminate the amount of dust and allergens that are circulating through the air in your home, helping to keep you and your family healthier.
- Radiant floor heat spreads the heat evenly throughout your floor resulting in even heat distribution to your room
While the upfront costs of a radiant floor heating system can be as much as 50% more than a traditional forced air system, in the long run, it will save you money. You are heating your room from where you are standing, which allows most people to keep lower temperatures and still feel warmer in their room. This helps to lower your heating costs and over time, you will save money by installing a radiant floor heating system.
