Earlier this month, Lloyd HVAC Services had the honour of joining the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) at Queen’s Park for a significant advocacy initiative. The Ontario HVACR priorities HRAI put in front of ministers come down to three things: sensible regulation that keeps homeowners safe without strangling small contractors, real investment in skilled-trades training to close the technician shortage, and clear, stable rebate programs so families can plan heat pump and high-efficiency upgrades with confidence.
The day focused on building awareness around the importance of sustainable HVACR practices, the need for clear regulatory support, and investing in workforce development. It also opened up dialogue on how industry and government can collaborate more effectively to meet Ontario’s energy efficiency and climate goals.
