— Common furnace problems

Describe It. We've Fixed It.

These are the most common air conditioner issues we see across Toronto homes every summer. Whatever yours is doing, we’ve dealt with it before.

Running but not cooling

The AC turns on and blows air, but the house stays warm. Usually a refrigerant, compressor, or airflow issue.

Blowing warm air

Air coming from the vents is warm or lukewarm instead of cold. Could be a thermostat, compressor, or refrigerant problem.

Water leaking from the unit

Puddles forming around the indoor unit or dripping from the ceiling. Usually a blocked drain line or frozen coil.

Strange or loud noises

Grinding, squealing, banging, or buzzing sounds. Indicates a mechanical issue that will get worse if ignored.

Short cycling

AC turns on, runs for a few minutes, shuts off, then starts again. Strains the system and wastes energy.

Ice forming on the unit

Ice buildup on the coils or refrigerant lines. Usually caused by low refrigerant or restricted airflow.

Won't turn on at all

No response when you set the thermostat to cool. Could be electrical, thermostat, or capacitor failure.

Musty smell from vents

A damp, mouldy odour when the AC runs. Usually means moisture buildup or mould in the ductwork or coil.
— AC systems we repair

We Fix Every Type of Cooling System

Whatever cooling system is in your home, our technicians are trained on it.

Central air conditioning

Split systems with indoor evaporator and outdoor condenser. The most common setup in GTA homes.

Ductless mini-splits

Wall-mounted units for zone cooling. Common in older homes, additions, and condos without ductwork.

High velocity systems

Small-duct AC for heritage homes and renovations. Uses 2-inch flexible ducts that fit inside walls.

PTAC & condo units

Packaged terminal AC, fan coils, and condo-pack systems. Common in condos and multi-unit buildings.

AC Repair Questions Answered

Quick answers to what Toronto homeowners ask us most.
We prioritize same-day and next-day service calls, especially during the summer months. During heat waves demand spikes, but we’ll always give you an honest time estimate. Call us and we’ll let you know when we can get there.
Costs vary depending on the issue — a capacitor replacement is very different from a compressor repair. We provide a clear quote before any work begins so there are no surprises. You always approve the cost upfront.
Yes. Our technicians are factory trained and service all major brands — Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Napoleon, and more. We repair central AC, ductless mini-splits, high velocity systems, and PTAC units.
If your AC is under 12–15 years old and the repair is less than half the cost of a new unit, repairing usually makes sense. We’ll give you an honest recommendation — we never push a replacement when a repair will do the job.
Several things could cause this: low refrigerant, a dirty condenser coil, a failing compressor, restricted airflow from a clogged filter, or an undersized system for your home. Our techs will diagnose the exact cause and fix it.

The most common cause is a clogged condensate drain line — moisture that normally drains away backs up and overflows. It can also be caused by a frozen evaporator coil that melts faster than the drain can handle. Either way, it’s a quick fix for our techs.
