— Common HVAC problems we solve

Not Sure What's Wrong? That's Exactly Why We're Here.

You don’t need to know the technical term. Just describe what’s happening and we’ll handle the rest. Here are the most common issues we see.

HVAC running but house stays warm

The system turns on and blows air, but the temperature won’t drop. Could be refrigerant, compressor, or airflow.

Uneven cooling through the house

Some rooms comfortable, others sweltering. Often a ductwork, zoning, or system capacity issue.

Weak airflow from the vents

Air barely coming out of registers. Could be a blower motor problem, clogged filter, or duct obstruction.

Water pooling around the unit

Puddles forming near the indoor HVAC equipment. Usually a blocked condensate drain or frozen coil.

Grinding, rattling, or buzzing

New or worsening sounds from the HVAC system. Indicates mechanical wear that gets worse if ignored.

Hydro bill spiked for no reason

Sudden jump in your electricity costs. Your HVAC may be running inefficiently or cycling excessively.

System keeps cycling on and off

Short cycling strains the equipment and wastes energy. Often a thermostat, electrical, or sizing issue.

Musty or stale smell from vents

A damp, mouldy odour when the system runs. Could be mould on the coils or inside the ductwork.

HVAC Repair Questions Answered

Quick answers to what Toronto homeowners ask us most.
That’s literally what we do. Most homeowners don’t know what component is failing — they just know something’s not right. Our technicians are trained on every part of the HVAC system and will pinpoint the exact issue, explain it to you in plain language, and quote the fix before touching anything.
We prioritize same-day and next-day service calls. During peak summer, demand is higher, but we’ll give you an honest time estimate when you call. We don’t give vague four-hour windows — we tell you when we’ll be there.
Yes. Our technicians are factory trained and service all major brands — Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, Trane, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Napoleon, Bryant, Rheem, and more. We repair central AC, ductless mini-splits, high velocity systems, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and PTAC units.
It depends entirely on the issue — a capacitor swap is very different from a compressor replacement. We diagnose the problem, tell you exactly what it is, and give you a clear quote before any work starts. You approve the cost first. No surprises.
No. If a repair fixes the problem, we repair it. We only recommend replacement when the repair cost genuinely doesn’t make financial sense — like if the repair is more than half the cost of a new unit, or the system is critically old and failing. We’ll explain our reasoning and the decision is always yours.
Very likely. An HVAC system running inefficiently — dirty coils, low refrigerant, a failing component — draws more electricity to do the same job. A service call can identify why your system is working harder than it should and fix the issue, often paying for itself in hydro savings within a month or two.
